About the Program

The ILTA myMentor program aims to facilitate the ongoing professional development of professionals in the legal tech space. It offers you an opportunity to partner with an individual from another organization in the legal tech space for mentorship. You get to engage directly with a mentor/mentee to develop skills not available within your own organization; help individuals adapt to change; and are often an effective way to pass knowledge and experience on from seasoned professionals at similar levels to those new in their role at your organization.

ILTA’s myMentor program provides you with a safe space to learn, develop, and build meaningful connections in the legal industry.

With a focus on professional growth, communication skills, diversity, leadership, reflective analysis, and empowerment, ILTA will provide the structured program through Mentor/Mentee matching, program guidelines, and a resource center. Mentor and Mentee pairs will meet virtually on a cadence established by the pairs themselves for a designated time through their ILTA account while providing feedback and meeting with other mentors and mentees during the program.

How it Works

1. Go to myMentor.iltanet.org and enter your ILTA account credentials in the top right-hand corner and click ‘Apply’. You will be re-directed to our program’s portal.

2. Select ‘Mentor’ or ‘Mentee’ based on your preference. At this time, you can only choose one option.

3. Please note:
     a. Complete the fields with your personal information.
     b. You may need to log into your ILTA account on a separate window to grab your ILTA profile URL and the same for LinkedIn.
     c. For time zones, select the City closest to you for an accurate international time zone.
     d. If you need to ask or tell ILTA anything you can put it in the last box on the application form.

4. Once mentees have been accepted into the program, they will receive up to four potential mentors that they need to contact and conduct a chemistry check with. Specific instructions on these chemistry checks will be provided.

5. As each chemistry check is completed, mentees will go into their profile and answer questions about each potential mentor. Once all chemistry checks are completed the mentees will rank the potential mentors they have met.

6. Participants will then be assigned a mentor/mentee.

7. Participants will have approximately 8-9 months to conduct your mentoring relationship.
